Bemidji, MN is first stop on the Mississippi and the home of Paul Bunyan! Unlike Paul and Babe, the stories of Monster Fish are not a tall tale. Many believe that the next state record Musky is alive and well swimming in one of the area lakes today.
The Bemidji Area is surrounded by pine forests and was founded as a logging community on the Mississippi river. Bemidji, is near Itasca State Park, Lake Bemidji State Park, state forest areas, the Chippewa National Forest, and has 400 fishing lakes within 25 miles. Over 400 miles of snowmobile trails and 160 km of cross-country ski trails are located in close proximity to Bemidji.
