About Pelican Lake
It is 8,253 acres and 22.7 miles of shoreline that is pristine and one of the most popular fishing lakes in Central Minnesota. The lake's unique combination of excellent water clarity, healthy weed lines, and abundant underwater lake structures help create an excellent environment for walleyes. These factors allow Pelican Lake the opportunity to maintain a walleye population that is well above Minnesota state averages in both walleye population density and overall fish size. It is known for being a very solid walleye lake that produces good numbers of eaters and when timed right can produce trophy fish as well. All these factors consistently help Pelican Lake stay ranked as one of Minnesota's premier walleye lakes.
The best times to chase walleyes on Pelican can be early season and in the fall, but fish can be caught throughout the year. Walleye numbers are currently very high with the average size being in the 10"-21" size. The lake also offers very good northern pike,largemouth bass, and pan-fishing as well to keep the angler busy on the water.
